PE Events 2016/2017

Our pupils really embrace PE events! We have already had much sports success in Keysteps gymnastics, Sportshall athletics and the county cross finals.

Friday 10th February saw day 2 of the 2017 Norfolk School Games Winter Finals take place at Gresham’s School in Holt. The second day of the Games saw over 600 young runners take part in the Yr 3-6 cross country finals. Each of the participants had qualified to represent their local School Sports Partnership (SSP) by taking part in a prior qualifying competition. Each SSP team included 80 runners made up of 10 boys and girls from each of years 3/4/5/6. Hillside Primary School had 8 qualifiers across the year groups. Despite the cold temperatures and the odd snow flurry, everyone kept in high spirits and the sun even made an appearance towards the end of the afternoon.. Each of the races was tremendously exciting with runners setting off at a blazing pace. Runners were cheered on by hundreds of spectators who had come to watch the top young runners in the country compete. All of our children gave their all in difficult conditions pushing themselves to complete the muddy course in the best time possible. Pick of the runners was Jennifer Allen who finished 2nd in the Year 5 girls race. Well done to all that raced and represented our school.
