Year 3

Children can still log into Accelerated Reader via this link: https://ukhosted33.renlearn.co.uk/2245186/ to take their tests.

When selecting new books for the children to read, this is the website that you can use to make sure that the book is in their range: https://www.arbookfind.co.uk/

Here is a list of websites that the Year 3 children can go on at home. They all require the children's Accelerated Reader username and password unless otherwise stated.

Tocomail: an emailing service so the children can stay in touch with their friends (and me). Remember to add @tocomail.com to create their email addresses, e.g. AR username: jsmith3nr Tocomail email: jsmith3nr@tocomail.com

Seesaw: I shall be posting regular updates on here and I can also be contacted on this service at any time through the messaging option.

Sumdog: A great maths website that the children have been using this year. While the schools are closed, we are able to also use the spelling and reading activities too. The school code is: hillsidebradwell https://www.sumdog.com/user/sign_in

Times Tables Rockstars: While the schools are closed, we are able to have a free subscription. This website is great for wannabee rock stars who love practicing their times tables! https://ttrockstars.com/

Numbots: Again, while schools are closed, our class has a free subscription. This is a great website for practicing addition and subtraction. https://play.numbots.com/#/intro

Espresso: https://www.discoveryeducation.co.uk/ - load Espresso for loads of content, lessons, videos and activities using the following login credentials: username student668 password hillside

There is also a coding section on Espresso for computing sessions which can be followed step-by-step – just select coding from the drop down box in the top right of the screen when you log in.

Scratch, the computer coding programme that we use in school, is starting a beginner online course with a new challenge for each day of a 30 day challenge. Each day will have a step by step tutorial and then a short piece of programming that will build the basics of a game. At the end of the challenge, the children will have made 6 games! https://www.createcodeload.com/scratch-teachers-challenge
