The Specialist Resource Base is hosted by Hillside Primary School and is a county resource. The lead teacher in the SRB is Mr Johnson. The children within the SRB will often come from other schools and it is primarily a small base for children with learning difficulties. The SRB gives the children opportunities to develop independent learning skills by offering an adapted curriculum suitable for their individual needs. A high priority for the staff is to develop the children’s confidence and self esteem alongside making learning basic skills fun. This year we are very excited to be working in our wonderful new classroom and outside area. Our curriculum this term includes planting and growing, investigating living things and how they grow and change. Most of our learning is practical and includes horse riding, cooking, science, exploring our environment and where possible is delivered through lots of ‘hands on’ experiences. This term we have introduced swimming and next term we intend to become involved in the Norfolk TITAN road safety programme. We hope to develop in every child respect for each other and to enable them to fulfill their individual potential in a positive and stimulating learning environment. Norm (Small)
